We have been working in collaboration with the CHS Outdoor Club to create a multi-use trail network on the campus of Chatham High School. The project started in the spring of 2016, during that time we constructed roughly 1 mile of single track trail (Phase I). The CHS outdoor club gets students involved in the trail building process so that they can learn about building techniques, tools, trail planning and design.
The In-town loop incorporates the current HS trails along with trails located in Bordens Pond Preserve. The preserve is owned and managed by the Columbia Land Conservancy. It’s roughly a 7.5-mile ride with 700 ft of elevation gain. The best part is the ride-concludes at the Chatham Brewery for a pint!
The trails in Chatham are always dry and typically do not hold snow in the early spring and late fall. So go enjoy riding most of the year!
